    Hi all,
People are starting to get away from the original topic. I probably will too as there have been many interesting and valid discussion points raised.

But I was there on the DT thread on the day that Rob took issue with some of the comments relating to GBZ. I certainly appreciated Robs comments at the time and I welcome the opportunity to say so now.

GBZ was a nearology stock to QMN which was having a run that day. It was suggested that it would reach 20 cents. Rob drew a graph showing this was highly unlikely (although possible some time in the future) and he pointed out the low reward and high risk of entering GBZ so late in its run.
I am sure other tools could have been used which would have shown the same thing. On the other hand, noone was providing any evidence to support the 20 cent target.

On the bottom of every HC page it says in the disclaimer; "From time to time comments aimed at manipulating other investors may appear on these forums. Posters may post overly optimistic or pessimistic comments on particular stocks, in an attempt to influence other investors."

Newbie investors are probably more easily influenced than others. And yes, it's all about taking personal responsibility. But the "big picture" is more obvious after a year than it is after a month so mistakes will be made in the early days.
And taking responsibility is a great thing but it relates to others as well, even to those who put stocks forward or give targets without much supporting evidence.

I have noticed a few things relating to ramping since I've been lurking at DT:

many regulars provide useful information on a stock when they suggest it might be worth looking at, many use charts, support/resistance, company notices etc. Some provide nothing so maybe we just classify that as ramping or pure speculation,

from time to time a warning goes out to the newbies telling them not to get caught up in the ramping; maybe this should be a regular once a month or week notice,

an outsider who is ramping tends to get jumped on by TOU or the moderator much more often than a regular poster who might be doing the same thing,

and no disrespect intended, but I sometimes think moderators can appear conflicted if they hold shares being ramped or are otherwise too close to the action. Maybe some objective rules might help.

Anyhow, I think what Rob is saying that if self regulation fails and ramping gets out of hand, he is prepared to say so. And that cant be a bad thing.

I should add that overall, DT thread is a positive experience. Most are willing to help and there is a feeling of family. It is also truly educational and at times entertaining.
    End of rant.
