That's the way I see it too il duce, the US has very little of the world's Uranium 235, 1% is what I read and it will take years to get working mines back in operation anyway, and they aren't being supported by the US where as Conversion and de-conversion is, and the US also says that they want to limit the Uranium, imports where possible,m so where is the Uranium 235 coming from ? Paducah is at least 4 years away, yes the US want's Paducah as a clean up and also maybe a possible future fuel as well in U238.
But it also has a large problem with Nuclear waste nobody wants it in their backyard, and Yuccah Mountain is out, so where do they put it?
Something happened at GEH back in 2016, that's when we got GLE for a fair price mind you,

We know Natrium is going ahead by Terrapower, it uses Pu and HALEU,so that comes from UNF,
But that also gives them U235 about .1% mixed with U238, the U235 is enriched to whatever level the wich below10%, clean U238 can be used as fuel in a fast breeder reactor, This means that 80% of the waste they have today is burnt as fuel.
You will notice that both the Pu bundle and the Uranium bundle will be used in the Natrium and the BWRX, leaving just 20% of the waste for burial and it is only radioactive for 300 Years as against around 24 thousand years if just left as UNF.
So the US gets rid of most of its waste over time, it gets to fuel the Natrium and the BWRX300 and also today's reactors fuel as well and it fixes the Russian problem of Enriched Uranium, what is there to not like about that.
