Thanks for that sinkers, it is certainly is a plausible explanation.
But it doesn't quite account for the regular flow of 100 to 500 lots of shares on the market for Petsec, sometimes below the then market price sometimes above.
All a bit odd. Someone suggested a Da Vinci code reason ie.that certain buyers and sellers were exchanging signals. Too far fetched that one!
But these dubious bids can be seen on a whole range of spec stocks and I suppose if I looked hard enough on other shares as well. Just watch the bids and offers on Norwest for example.
Some people just don't have enough to do! I suppose it reflects the ease with which internet broking allows some traders try to influence the market
