Unfortunately, the "ignore" button doesn't stop posts that cross the TOU guidelines at HC, particularly those linking your account to very unpleasant terms. In fact you just don't see them .
My position going forward, though obviously for others to decide if it suits them as well, is to adopt a new "soft ignore" policy:
a) Stop using ignoring on HC, replace with but aggressively monitoring what they are saying and doing about yourself and others.
b) Simply not engaging directly with those accounts.
c) Requesting HC moderation first and foremost.
d) Supporting and recommending others to remain unemotional, as that is their "blood sport."I would prefer the ZIP forum to resemble, as I mentioned, more of a 2024 "rugby field of ideas," with banter and ribbing but clear rules—"running backwards," "are you trying out for our club next year"—and no slander, racism, or sexual misconduct allegations. It is not a "blood sport," where you goad others into reacting and then go in for the "kill."
