Coincidentally today I rejigged my portfolio to hold only two pure explorers. While that hasn't enabled me to avoid today's drop it does feel a bit better not having my moods regularly agitated by drilling results. It's much easier to be sanguine when one's explorers are largely funded in different ways.

I will now ride this horse to oblivion. The loss to-date is baked in. Complete write-off will not make a huge difference to portfolio performance.

Lessons here include the fact that a large landholding and a small company are not a good mix, especially when half the year the climate is so lousy the company cant do anything. I do wonder whether doing what ANTIPA did with its huge landholding by way of JVs etc would have been a much much better way forward.
