Although I'd need a 28% gain just to get back to where I was in terms of total capital invested ($8 vs $6.25) and if I needed to sell I'd be paying a 100% higher CGT on future gains until I ticked over the 1yr threshold again.
One thing I'm probably not factoring in... most amateur traders I've met seem to have had more than enough carry-forward losses to offset the CGT gains though, lol.
