I think that if they get re-approval for the plant in Kingaroy, I would:
- complete the trial burn to establish proof of concept (again).
- raising some capital
- using the money to focus on Eneaaba project, moving all equipment from Kingaroy. The reasons: we need a remote place to prove the concept. This would also focus the benefits of being able to produce electricity in remote places (i.e. near mines) from small coal seams. Rightly or wrongly, any move to agricultural area on the eastern seaboard will now face resistance, at least until they have been producing electricity for 2-3 years with no contamination. Also, although CBM is not arguably worse that UCG (and this strengthen deliberations with QLD government), if a general 'anti-coal derived gas' campaign gathers momentum, the greenies will not seek to distinguish between the technologies.
- focus on China and Pakistan. I think the Eneabba focus is important in this regard as we need to start producing electricity ASAP so emerging players have confidence in the technology and don't switch UCG horse, or simply use their own tech (which the Chinese are likely to try irregardless).
