Regarding that article you mentioned: those who are presently so infatuated with West Africa's goldies might not be quite so enthusiastic if they thought that their sovereign risk exposures were in step with those of South Africa.
South Africa produces 75%-80% of the world's annual supply of platinum, such that the price of it would probably leap up if South African mine output was disrupted, so maybe a punt on platinum (say ETPMPT) is in order.
As for FML, I'm hoping for announcements extending the known areas of mineralisation at Treasure Island.
