I think you'll find Australia's contribution is quite easily measurable.
And people have measured it.
You just seem to be used to some sort of "round to the nearest hundred and she'll be right" mathematics.
Small numbers have big impacts when the rest of the system is in balance - you're clearly just not used to working on anything that requires precision.
