I can appreciate that they need time to analyse the data before either releasing to the conference, or the public, and that the conference needs to be the first place to present the data. The document you've shared @Grainofsand is useful, and thanks, but it's full of very vague 'It is good practice to...' and 'What a reasonable person would assume...' kind of statements. Not exactly clear-cut rules with definite lines in the sand imo.
Not meaning to start anything, and if it's common practice, I guess I'm the exception, but I believe a Trading Halt is warranted in this kind of situation. Just to eliminate any chance of leaky ships, back-scratching, favours being given/repayed etc. A fair playing field for all.
That's all I have to say, no big deal.
