Went to HN for Christmas sale and was looking at a coffee table. Reduced to $640 from $790. Deliery was extra $150. This was made in Vietnam and the markup would still be huge. Found the same thing online for $220 + 65 delivery.
GST doesnt make much difference when the savings are a lot more than 10%. The only real advantage of HN and the large retailers is the ability to return goods.
