They trusted a guy who hasn’t paid for any shares out his own pocket, and chose not to exercise options to advance the companies prospects when everybody else was.

if he misses the performance bonus its not really financial loss or penalty to him. Moreso a chance or bonus. ‘Oh well’

the shareholders are losing their own wealth and hours, years or lifetime of blood sweat and tears. Life changing for all the wrong reason. Meanwhile old mate gets a salary, flights and whatever else he does in Europe the majority of the year where his based courtesy of shareholder funds. His good a while atm.
