The goal is to use Australia's enormous resource riches to rebuild new, diverse supply chains that are essential to the global shift to renewable energy. As a result of the need for diversity (so that we can share the load with China), there will be numerous winners nation wide.
The world sees Australia's supportive policies as a good investment opportunity that other developed nations lack. RNU is at an advanced (first-mover-advantage) stage, so this announcement makes Australia stand out. Making sure that international businesses know, that we are a safe place to do business and our door is open. I suspect a number of policy announcements to come over the coming months.
For a truely diversified supply chain, it must involve a safe jurisdiction like Australia.
