Dutton will come out before the election and state he goes against Pep11
Not in a million years will he do that, he is not that stupid. We are in a full blown gas crisis now and both parties know that they need PEP11 for the energy security of the country. NSW are in such dire straits they will be importing gas at over $20/Gj next year.
The point here, and both parties know it, is, THE EAST COAST OF AUSTRALIA IS OUT OF GAS!!!!!!! and the renewables solution is decades off.
ACCC have written reports about it, AEMO have written reports about it, it is well documented.
My thinking is both parties will ultimately approve PEP11 because THERE IS NO OTHER VIABLE OPTION.
But Labor know they will need the Greens in their pocket first, the funny thing is Labor could approve PEP11 and the Greens would still vote with them because they will never do a deal with the Libs.
Smarter politicians would see this and be able to have their cake and eat it too.
