Hence, the share price is in no way indicative of 'market sentiment'. It is indicative of the share holding and agenda of one holder and those that it lends its shares to.

Put it another way, who would lend their shares to someone for the purposes of shorting?:

"...here is my nest for you to borrow... poop away!".

Actually, it is more of a case of,

"here is a nest I only own a portion of - poop away, and I can (try to) buy the rest of the soiled nest cheaper."

Now, that sort of behaviour is hardly going to endear themselves to ESG shareholders, when they are going to be offered to sell, now is it?
