If you watch Mondlane's youtube message from a few hours ago translated to English, he is adamant that on the 15th of January, he and the people will make him the country's democratically elected president.
It would be very bold and foolish for Frelimo to not back down and agree to a transfer of power as Mondlane seems to have the numbers and the streets.
