I'm a bit confused as to why ZKcandy needed to be set up as a separate business with Kin Wai Lau as founder/Director/CEO?

I could be wrong but I seem to remember reading somewhere that ZKsync technology has been adopted by up to 20 other businesses as well?
What are the implications profit generation wise with this arrangement?
Any ideas/explanations much appreciated.
