Correction: DW has ground zero history with the Moranbah gas industry, is a mining engineer by trade, spent time in commodities and precious metals, has international oil and gas industry experience, to give a unique well balanced technical, operational & financial and market side of the project and industry.
Not only is he the MGP's returning founding father, he is also very understated, not wanting to blow his own trumpet. Great to hear he has those with intimate knowledge of the field from the field's formation days on the team, and their techniques, somewhat forgotten, are producing results.
Hence the straight bat at the host's bullish nickel sentiment, but recognising we now have a solid revenue producing energy business with lots of upside, together with a free option on probably the world's best ESG-rated nickel production project. The TECH team sound focussed on both getting the flowsheet as tight as possible, along with looking for capex savings, to have it ready to go off the shelf when the cycle time is right.
IMO just as China-backed Indo production has upended the industry in a short time, there will be other geopolitical and sector changes that will change the current status, which investors seem to have 'baked in' for all time. As CO2 levels increase and COPs tighten the emission screws, EV uptake really hits its straps, ESG will get its time in the sun, then hello Battery pass, and the EV automakers or perhaps global miners will seriously look at the TECH's rightness & readiness and really partner up (I'm looking at you GM).
Back to the gas, further low hanging fruit in ongoing attention to reinvigorating the field's dead wells, plus a new well drilling program with subsequent production increase mentioned for kickoff mid-25, are all revenue drivers in the short-medium term, not in a couple of years (which was clearly a TECH reference).
Not mentioned by DW was the Fort Cooper Coal Measures outside the MGP, which QPM received a May24 $3M grant for a trial well program.
Hits there would provide further production and resource increase.
Stationary SP?
Sometimes people get into the habit of bashing a stock relentlessly and ignore current developments.
It has climbed from a low of 0.29 to current in the last three months - looks pretty good trajectory to me.
