There arew certain items that i won;t dare to buy again from Harvey Norman the chain.

There are other things that i only buy from Harvey Norman the chain, due to their exclusive deals on those items, the price on those deals and the fact that they are only the middleman for service (they send it off). At least i am not dealing with a virtual service counter that can disappear!

I don't like Gerry Harvey's - the man - when he tries to influence the government with personal meetings intended to assist him in reclaiming a market share.
I feel it is an abuse of his standing in Australia.

It would be inaccurate to suggest that any man/woman could line up such a meeting with a government official as it just doesn't happen - advisors or secretaries are normally your best hope, but you rarely get to see and influence the decision maker. He hasn't gone through the same channels that are available to others and so he isn't playing fair in my opinion. In this way, he is being assisted with his self-importance and so he has attracted a fair level of criticism.

He should adapt - full stop.

Ultimately, the costs that Internet buyers would incur from the sellers putting their prices up to cope with Tax, means that we would pay more as consumers.
So i don;t agree that Gerry should try to influence the rules which would only make us pay more.
He should adapt and stop whining IMO.

That said, i will still look after number one and if i find HN has an offer or service that is the best, i will shop there.
Likewise if the offer/service is the worst (as learned via my own experience) then i will avoid it like a plague.
