"As at 30 June 2009, Telstra operated 20,683 payphones across Australia. There were also 18,645 payphones operated by private businesses, generally using Telstra payphone access lines. Examples of such payphones include the Blue and Gold payphones located in service stations, hotels and shopping centres."

    Taken from http://www.acma.gov.au/WEB/STANDARD/pc=PC_1720

Say Telstra was to replace ALL current payphones with new PIE webphones at a cost of $10,000 per unit (which would NEVER happen) then you MIGHT see a 40cent SP -

    20,683 + 18,645 = 39,328 x $10,000 = $393,280,000

I certainly wouldnt bet my house on Telstra laying out anywhere near half a billion dollars for this project due to the small return on profit they would receive.

This realy is a dog stock and anyone with even a remote bit of knowledge about technology should know this. Obviously that excludes itsagas.

Seems to me all the rampers here are in for a quick buck...not the long term. Seriously short, short term play at best.
