EXPLORATION DRILLING - 4 rigs to be active over the Christmas period:
1. Noble Corporation’s Noble Venturer drillship – contracted to Rhino Resources Ltd: Spudded the Sagittarius 1X NFW on PEL 85 on 18 December, after which it will drill Volans 1X.
2. Saipem’s Santorini drillship - contracted to Galp: Drilled Mopane 1A appraisal (successfully appraised AVO-1 reservoir) on PEL 83. Rig spudded Mopane 2A (appraising AVO-3 reservoir) on 1 December, after which it will move to drill Mopane 3X in Q1 2025 (targeting AVO-10 & AVO-13 prospects).
3. Northern Ocean Ltd.'s Deepsea Mira semi-sub (managed by Odfjell Drilling) – contracted to TotalEnergies: Spudded Tamboti 1X on PEL 56 on 20 October. Several follow-on drilling targets may be targeted south of the Venus field in 2025.
4. Deepsea Bollsta semi-sub – contracted to Chevron: Rig left Walvis Bay on 14 December and is mobilising to spud the Kapana 1X NFW on PEL 90.
