State Locust Controller, John Balfour, is reminding landholders that they should report new stages of locust development on their properties, with second generation hatchings now reported in the west of the State as well as the North Central and North East regions.
Mr Balfour said it was important that landholders reported egg beds on their properties or new hatchings, even if they had previously reported swarming activity on their land.
"This gives us the best idea of the full picture across the State - especially now that we know second generation locusts are hatching in some areas," Mr Balfour said.
"Landholders can report by calling the Department of Primary Industries hotline on 1300 135 559 or by visiting www.dpi.vic.gov.au/locusts."
