- Invest your own money for the raise - this sends a clear signal that mgt are committed;
- demonstrate that you have and are really putting in the serious yards to roadshow the strategy to leading firms and analysts. No more BS this is being done when its not being taken seriously;
- Take a pay cut given the funding pressures. All businesses do this - extreme options on hold and base salaries slashed until milestones met. There is no success anyone can see for quite some time - so why have you been extracting all this money?
Finally, find real Board members that keep you honest, support door opening and coaching.
Its most likely many or all of these will be required to stay afloat. We wish you luck, the list above is difficult and will need your full commitment. The alternative is to step down immediately.
