    IXRs chance to crack the US market in 2025 in partnership with LCM, my thoughts and research over the past few weeks

    As we know German magnet manufacturer Vacuumschmelze, the parent company of e-VAC Magnetics (e-VAC), is building a new manufacturing facility in Sumter, South Carolina, the facility is designed to produce 1600 tons per year of PM.

    1600t of PM will be produced at the facility, 1,600,000kg
    1kg of PM contains and will need
    NdPr = 280g, VAC will need 448t
    Dy = 20g VAC will need 320t
    Tb = 15g, VAC will need 240t
    FeB = 685g

    The new E-VAC manufacturing facility, bankrolled by the Department of Defence, is set to be operational by 2025.

    History

    As we know, Less Common Metals has a close association with Vacuumschmelze over the past 10 years or more, back in 2018

    The primary Western supplier today is LCM when it comes to Magnet Alloy production, Less Common Metals produced metals and alloys from the oxides delivered by REEtec, and Vacuumschmelze (VAC) in Germany used LCM alloys in their production of permanent magnets.

    Moving Forward, Since 2017, LCM has made neodymium (Nd) and neodymium praseodymium (NdPr) metal commercially on their premises over 120 tonnes per annum LCM recently announced the expansion of metal-making production to dysprosium iron (DyFe) and terbium (Tb) to further enhance their expertise as a complementary supply chain alternative. LCM is actively securing committed offtake agreements for commercial scale volumes for DyFe metal aimed to be supplied at approximately 30 tonnes per annum and Tb metal volume at 30 tonnes per annum initially.

    Back to VAC in South Carolina, Vacuumschmelze has now created multiple partnerships with many players/Technologies involved in RE, Magnet Alloy Makers especially with LCM having great partnership history between them over the last decade with projects

    I believe and feel that Vacuumschmelze are getting a team together, they will need all the Rare Earth Oxides they can get there hands on for the PM Facility up and running by the end of 2025 (DoD), LCM will most likely be the Magnet Alloy producer at that plant and if the REEValuate project works out very well, which I think it will because Ionic Technologies process and refines a suite of magnet REOs including neodymium oxide (Nd2O3), Didymium oxide (NdPr oxide), Dysprosium oxide(Dy2O3) and Terbium oxide (Tb4O7) and is a leader inproducing such high-quality REO products.

    Anyway it's my opinion and I could be completely wrong, but that's my gut feeling at the moment, plenty of evidence around our best chance to get into the US Marketsmile.png

    Happy Xmas and New Year, and an even better in 2025 and beyond
