Leslie has not abstained from the vote, she has abstained from making a recommendation on how shareholders should vote. A small but significant difference.
Why? Most likely one of two reasons:
1. Conflict of interest.
2. Not fully across the details (perhaps absent from the board meeting taking care of other aspects of the running of the company).
I don’t see it being a big deal and I’m not reading anything into it.
