Scripture makes it clear that Satan and a third of the fallen angels are grounded here on Earth, as depicted in Revelation 12:7-9: "Then war broke out in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought, but they were not strong enough, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down—the ancient serpent, called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him."

The Bible warns us in Matthew 24:24: "For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect."
