No one should take an outright stand on climate change without trying to be even a little informed and that means doing a bit of research, even worse is taking a stand based on political lines and behaving like sheep. A good place to start is to study up on the gulfstream. The melting of glaciers in the Northern Hemisphere is not speculation or hypothisis it is a scientific fact, no argument there, the gulfstream is the giant mass of sea water that moves up from the gulf of Mexico and splits up the top of North America it carries the warm tropical water around these northern countries, it then gets cooled somewhat but not before giving countries such as the uk, France and Scotland a fairly temperate climate. If the gulfstream get cooled too much by these melting glacies (as it has in the past) then these countries will have winters that will be just like what they have experienced recently only it will be the norm. As for our part of the world, it is not only the warming that will give us droughts but also big wets and they will be often, so its not all about becoming dry its a complex problem that will take decades to unfold. I for one would rather ere on the side of caution rather than do nothing. Putting it in a simplistic way, its a bit like any insurance we get or even vaccinations we don't really think we will need it but are we really feeling that lucky, and it's not as if we have somewhere else to go.
