Anyone who believes what they read in the paper deserves to be served up the tripe Flannery, carter, plimer, gore, monkton et al serve up.

Flannery was an idiot to make definitive statement about how the chaotic weather system would react to climate change.

These celebrity climate change advocates and contrarians add nothing to the real debate but help idiots be fooled by one liners and headlines. Please stop wasting your time and the press time on this. In my opinion it is the media that is culpable in this instance for being so lazy to not check facts, for being so greedy to manipulate the context of statements to create controversy and for being so stupid they cannot remove their bias from the reporting.

I have been involved in the policy and implementation of climate change actions for over 10 years and I stopped reading much of the media 3-4 years ago when I read an article by a so called respected journalist that was just plain wrong, they did not even understand the fundamentals of carbon trading or the climate mechanisms. I realised then that if this article (in my area of expertise) was what people where reading and it was getting through the press then we were in trouble. It then dawned on me (slowly like through a fog) that if this article in my area of expertise was so wrong, how many other articles on areas that I am not an expert where wrong. What could I believe? Now I do a lot more research and if possible I go to the original papers or documents and read through them and make my own decisions. I urge others to do the same.
