The daily borrowed numbers provided by ASIC can be misleading , especially for retail shareholders . True that they could be sold into market and returned in a single reporting period . It is also true that we only see the borrowed positions taken out and not the returned positions . I will let others speculate as to why this is the case . The numbers provided by the ASX in my opinion provide a much clearer picture .
