A little too simplistic.
Would the design team at Infineon be allowed to design a selector for 4DS if it has the chance of disrupting it's own internal IP (or the IP of one of its major partners like NVIDIA bringing in billions of revenue?)
No.
Says a lot that what 4DS has is unique.
