lots of negativity here and glad I stayed away for a bit. Even seems 90% of people here have no idea what 4DS is even about. Very strange. A very small handful of posters seem to get it, they know who they are.
The fee paid to Infineon is incredibly small. The upfront fee is the only fee which is guaranteed, the rest is a running monthly fee. You really think Infineon deals with small contracts like this a lot? Maybe, but highly doubtful, they got bigger contracts going on and not much time for his mickey mouse crap. They also have their own $3bn+ RnD budget to contend with
It would take 6-12 months for a tiny company like 4DS to even find the right person to talk to at Infineon to sign this deal. Sounds like it happened far quicker, DM traveled to USA in end October. Ting must know someone quite high up at Infineon. DM got a bit excited and pulled the trigger on a cap raise far too quickly imo at a tough time in the market too close to Xmas and holidays. DM should have announced, let it run, and then raise a smaller amount around 10c now. They really should have raised post platform 4, a good $10m at 15 cents and be done for next 18-24 months. But it's easy to understand why they didn't.
Lots of speculation about the cap raise but I can guarantee you are all wrong. It's all about Evolution/JP not having any idea what 4DS' tech is about and not being able to sell it within 24 hours to investors, many who were already on Xmas vacation. Their only selling points was the discount and oppies. DM going for a full $8m was also a mistake. If he went for $4-5m it would have gotten done.
Platform 6 was always going to be the last platform with imec. People need to ask themselves why and what the plans were post this
