Tonio,
Let’s address your claims and provide some clarity, as there seems to be a misunderstanding regarding the Sabbath and its role in Scripture.
1. The Sabbath Is from Creation and Not Exclusive to Israel
Your claim that the Sabbath was "only given to the Israelites because they were slaves in Egypt" is incorrect. The Sabbath is clearly established at creation as a divine institution for all humanity, not just Israel.
Genesis 2:2-3 (TLV) states:
"Then God completed—on the seventh day—His work that He made, and He ceased on the seventh day from all His work that He made. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, for on it He ceased from all His work that God created for the purpose of preparing."
Here, God sanctified the seventh day and set it apart. This was long before Israel existed as a nation. The Sabbath is God's day, and its significance is rooted in creation itself.
Yeshua reinforces this in Mark 2:27 (TLV):
“The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.”
Note that Yeshua says the Sabbath was made for man (all humanity), not just for Israel.
2. The Sabbath Was Kept Before Sinai
Your challenge to show where the Sabbath was kept before it was given to Israel ignores key passages in Scripture. For example, in Exodus 16, the Israelites were instructed to observe the Sabbath regarding the gathering of manna:
"Six days you will gather, but the seventh day is the Sabbath. There will be none." (Exodus 16:26, TLV)
This command predates the giving of the Ten Commandments at Sinai in Exodus 20, proving that the Sabbath was recognized and observed prior to the Mosaic Covenant.
3. The Sabbath Is Eternal
Your suggestion that the Sabbath may only apply to this life misses the clear teaching of Scripture. The Sabbath is not temporary; it is eternal.
Isaiah 66:22-23 (TLV) states:
“For just as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, will endure before Me”—it is a declaration of Adonai—“so your descendants and your name will endure. And it will come to pass that from one New Moon to another and from one Shabbat to another, all flesh will come to bow down before Me,” says Adonai.
This passage explicitly states that all flesh will observe the Sabbath in the new heavens and new earth. The Sabbath is not just for this age or for Israel but for eternity.
4. The Ten Commandments Are Universal
You claim the Ten Commandments were given only to Israel and are not needed to know right from wrong. While certain aspects of morality may align with human conscience, the Ten Commandments reflect God’s eternal law and His character.
The Sabbath command (the 4th) is no exception. It is a moral obligation rooted in God’s authority as Creator and His provision of rest for humanity. The idea that "keeping the Sabbath is not moral law" is a misunderstanding; morality is defined by God, not human intuition.
5. Your Speculation About "God’s Rest"
Suggesting that "R.I.P." may represent God's Sabbath rest is speculative and unsupported by Scripture. The Sabbath is not a vague concept but a specific day (the seventh day) established by God as a sign of His covenant and His role as Creator.
Final Thought:
Tonio, the challenge you posed to Angus—demanding proof of the Sabbath being kept before Sinai—has been addressed with biblical evidence. The Sabbath is not just for Israel but for all mankind, and it will continue to be observed in the new creation.
Rather than dismissing the Sabbath as non-binding, I encourage you to consider its role as a divine gift for humanity. By observing the Sabbath, we honor our Creator and align ourselves with His eternal plan.

To one and all...
I have no idea why so many struggle with the one true Sabbath. It’s like they see it as a burden when, in fact, it is a true blessing.
If someone were to ask, "Does God say it’s okay to commit adultery?" nearly everyone here would explicitly rebuke it and even reference the Ten Commandments, just as Yeshua did on this subject. Yet, almost all—except for one or two—refuse to acknowledge the Sabbath in the same manner.
It is genuinely concerning that so many claim to walk in faith, yet they constantly reject the clear biblical teachings of the one true Sabbath. As has been established many times, we are saved by God’s grace through a living faith (Ephesians 2:8-10). Faith, over time, produces the fruits of the Spirit and aligns us with God’s will. However, if we reject God’s will, our faith begins to waver. It not only becomes weak but can also become dead altogether (James 2:17).
No matter how many here try to justify rejecting the Sabbath—claiming it was changed to the "Lord’s Day" (Sunday)—this is simply not biblical. It is a lie influenced by the traditions of man and rooted in paganism. These traditions caused much of Christendom to reject one of God’s explicit commandments: "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy."
Clear instructions were given for the Sabbath, and it is, in fact, the most detailed commandment written on the tablets presented to Moses. So why keep rejecting this clear instruction? Exercise your faith—make it stronger by embracing the Sabbath. You’ll discover the true blessing it is and how it draws you closer to God.
Know this: when you come to the biblical clarity that the Sabbath is required of a faithful follower and still choose to reject it, you are walking in willful sin. This is why I believe many try so hard to justify their rejection of the Sabbath. Some distort Scripture, claiming it was changed when it clearly was not. It’s like the moment someone genuinely believes the Sabbath is correct, they also realize they’re not adhering to God’s will—and they are right.
Many reject the Sabbath because it interferes with work or commitments on Friday evenings or Saturdays. But true faith means putting your trust in God and His provision. If you commit to honoring the Sabbath and rejecting the world’s demands, God will provide above and beyond. If your job requires you to work on the Sabbath, trust that God can and will provide you with a new job—more than likely one that pays even more. This is what true trust and strong faith in God look like.
Stop rejecting the Sabbath, people. It is a sign between God and His people for eternity, as clearly stated throughout Scripture
Isaiah 66:22-23 (TLV)
“For just as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, will endure before Me”—it is a declaration of Adonai—“so your descendants and your name will endure. And it will come to pass that from one New Moon to another and from one Shabbat to another, all flesh will come to bow down before Me,” says Adonai.
Every Sabbath throughout eternity, in heaven and on the new earth, we will come together and bow before our Creator on Sabbath. This is not limited to past generations, the Israelites, or the Jewish people—it includes all of God’s people, the one true Church.
Shalom. May God enlighten you to the Sabbath blessing, for it is not a burden.
