The fabled $1! The whole silly argument here is over time horizon for any recovery. Nobody knows, so why bother?
The fundamentals stack up. It's that simple and we can all agree on that at least. There are infinite possibilities that could lead it to $1 in X time, or not. We could get a strategic buyer who will take it all out at 45c for all we know, and then we'll never achieve $1. If it really is worth a dollar, then I can think of plenty of strategic buyers who would love these assets like CPP and others.
But the structure is prohibitive, so we'll just have to grind it out. Nice to see it sitting about 25c though (for now). Not too exciting but satisfying nonetheless.
ps - dividend, schmividend. Are we retirees here? Dividends mean nought and should only be paid out if a company has surplus cash and no projects or acquistions that will return in excess of their cost of capital. It's a signal and completely meaningless, unless of course you think it means something as many do and buy on that basis (as income investors would, who really are the only people for whom it matters, imo)
