Well if they left the same 200 companies in the ASX200 and never chucked the duds and replaced them with the better performers it may not happen.
Same with the Dow ! if they had left G.M in before they replaced it with Kraft it may look a whole lot sicker as well.
All indexes go up over time because that's what the big end of town require. Cull the weak companies and replace them with the strong. As for 6500 ? like the hair shampoo commercial it wont happen over night but it will happen ! LOL
