Why would infineon be dependent on PL6? Or are you assuming that they are only interested in designing a 20nm memory controller? And if thats your assumption, why would they rush into it without even receiving PL6 to know whether it succeeded or not so that they can proceed?
Whether PL6 fails or succeeds, it seems weird to do a CR and to sign a contracrt before you know the outcome if it was dependent on it.
I'm guessing you're assuming the reason for it is because of Dim? Or Moose's theory? Can't remember who it was, and if thats the case then why would they say a new memory controller is needed for PL5 which is at 60nm, meaning that a new memory controller would be equally beneficial to PL4 and improve its metrics.
