interesting point. lead me to do a google of longest running films. i remember both the Blues Bros and Rocky Horror as being long runners, which made me wonder if there was something about musicals that maid them more appealing?
not to mention endless repeats of The Sound of Music growing up.

well it seems that the longest running films in cinema history appear to be Bollywood films. Again with the musicals?

funnily enough, i didn't think i liked musicals. but my kids LOVE them, and they are mad about that show Glee, which i can't say i've seen.

Maybe we need more musicals?
