I'll contribute where I can by remarking on the very important observation made by Volt:

Yes, but the UK still running huge deficits together with their "austerity measures" (and regular fun for all the family riots), so together with the money printing it's still expansionary at this stage.
Nothing is more [content moderated] than the UK. Even if their internal economy improves, they have less to sell to the world than the US. The exports they relied on before the gfc are decimated. The relief valve in this situation is the pound, so watch the pound continue to collapse over time, even as life goes on there, diminished as it will be.
