It is my opinion that if you are investing for the long term, the P & D's situations should not effect your investment. Reason being that although you could be seeing/staring at a loss in your original investments, it is only a paper loss.

The real profits or the real losses are only taken in consideration at the time that you will press that sell button.

Until then, IMHO, it is better to look away when the P & D takes place and come back when you will be ready to sell.

Without offence meant to anyone here, the nervous nellies are the one that fall for the trap under pressure, and sell. Thus realising an unexpected loss.
