One of the best books I have read, not from the literary perspective, is "The Search for Meaning". It was a collection of conversations Caroline Jones, an ABC Radio presenter at the time, had with some prominent Australians who talked about their life changing experiences and their search for meaning in life.
That book is out of print now.
