As you state ... the word "investigate" most likely could relate to "look into the most recent announcement" rather than "investigate the company". Indeed to "investigate" sounds and is rather alarming.Your post alluded to an investigation that is why I investigated and replied.
Maybe a junior representative or someone unaware of the potential meaning of the word investigate wrote your response?
My post was to reassure HC posters that there was no confirmation of an investigation and even if there was they would not share such info. A review of an announcement and not an investigation is what may occur.
