Yes, there is by the media different reporting standards in its reporting of these barbaric practices.
In so far as animal rights are concerned, I am probably more extreme than you are as I don't believe in killing animals for foods. I eat very minimal meats, and yes, I know I still eat meats, and it is a prick on my conscience that I have yet to find a way out of. I want to be able to totally turn off eating meats.
