A premium sale price is irrelevant if it's accompanied by a "premium" production cost @Poohbear. Even if AGY could get Stage 2 working at nameplate, they'd still be losing almost US$5k per tonne if they were to sell at that same "premium" price.
And that's an awfully odd statement about RIO's spod intentions, considering RIO are exploring/developing various spod projects in Canada (Galinee), Serbia (Jadar) and Australia. They've committed $2.4b to Jadar alone, and the acquisition of Arcadium comes with 3 spodumene projects (Mt Cattlin, Galaxy and Nemaska).
