Broker reports aren't worth the paper they're printed on. I think most analysts have had WHC above $8.50 for most of 2024 (which it did once for about 2 weeks). Whitehaven haven't been over $9 (for more than a session or two) for over two years - and conditions were better then, than what they are now. I'd seriously take the broker recommendation with a large grain of salt. Keep in mind, whilst they might scrape through with only single digit declines in realised prices for the December quarter, it doesn't look pretty for the current quarter. The only thing helping will be the few % benefit by the drop in AUD.
