Hi slick ... I've spent years trying to figure out the shorts angle. Recently I had a great win with KAR, then there's been AMU. I'm looking to formalise my thoughts mid year and try to trade the larger Cap short trends on the long side. In the case of KAR there was a perfect dragonfly doji right at the bottom which was just too good a sign to pass on.
Whether CU6 conveniently gives us a little green flag like that or not we'll soon see but it's seldom so obvious. In the case of KAR - if you're interested - look at all the significant shareholder notices where the big holders are accumulating by loaning shares to each other through affiliated parties. Then reversing the deals again, repetitively every week or so. It's mind blowing.
They must each have bots working in league to snip margins all the time - slowly but surely profiting while keeping the SP down while they accumulate. Trading shares and loan deals between each other off market. It's beyond one brain to keep up with BUT it convinced me to watch for some sort of signal NOT to assume anything is cheap anywhere as they can drive the price lower if they want. WHC and some U stocks and ARU look to be being played the same way lately.
I generally go for hyper risk small caps (through an accumulation/trade angle) but I'm going to diversify into mid-cap momentum trading from mid year if the market looks to allow me to. And I further convince myself about this short data/trend angle.
CU6 stays on my radar in case I can learn something - so I'm still watching for a confirmation long signal (and it might come this week after Trump takes office???)
