I put Trumps win down to tow things, first bagging on about cost increases which was not completely untrue and promising to bring prices down which was a fake promise to win votes. Note has not take office but already backed down on that promise.
Second, seems USA is not ready for a woman as president let alone one of colour. Clinton came close in the 2016 election winning the popular vote.
I'll put a third point in, Trump managed to use ever legal avenue to delay his indictments going to trial. In fact running for president was part of that, had his trials gone ahead people would know the extent of his corruption and criminality
