Yes, ReRAM should be cheaper to manufacture.
But for a customer its not just manufacturing costs...its:
- manufacturing costs
- license costs
- royalty costs
- design costs (hundreds of thousands)
- testing costs (millions???)
- risk/opportunity cost
Flash is easy & cheap, integrating and testing a brand new product is expensive. very expensive. hence why it takes years to make a dent in the market, everyone waiting for someone else to do the hard work and test it in production first.
