Explanation Rate of warming The current rate of warming is unprecedented in the last 24,000 years. Cause of warming The current warming is caused by human activity, such as burning fossil fuels, which releases large amounts of carbon dioxide (\(CO_{2}\)) into the atmosphere. Speed of warming The rate of warming is about 100 times faster than when humans emerged from the last ice age. Evidence 97% of climate scientists agree that human activity is the cause of global warming. Past warming Over the last 10,000 years, global temperatures rose by about 6° Celsius (around 11° Fahrenheit). The Earth's climate has changed throughout its history, but the current warming is happening at an unprecedented rate. Sounds like we are doomed. What are the chances Kingy, of the Co2 you think is creating the runaway temps, actually being reduced by much?. Is it not like now or never 10 years ago that the co2 needed to be coming down? Or was it 20 years ago?. When was the first date that was set that world man made Co2 needed to stop and start being reduced?
