Ah yes Hoods,,, you are on the right track in trying to define "in the public interest". In my travels from Victoria up to Queensland last year, I found no one from the east coast of New South Wales who had heard about PEP11. That includes two travellers from Newcastle unaware of PEP11.
The government seems to be quite ignorant about what PEP 11 is.
PEP is a petroleum exploration permit. Our opponents do not understand that the PEP11 project is one exploratory hole on the seabed the size of a dining room table. It will be capped and abandoned till a Petroleum Production Permit is sought for bringing the gas onshore.
The ongoing problem with PEP 11 at this time, comes from the noisy and ignorant woke activists that have got to the politicians.
