Broker data says otherwise unfortunately. Between the 20th and 22nd, retail holders bought approximately 28mil shares combined, while UBS dumped 25mil shares. Initially, it started with Morrison dumping shares and UBS/retail buying. Now, UBS is dumping at ATH levels while retail investors are buying. It seems like smart money is definitely manipulating the SP, just not in the way you think .
The only other sellers for that timeframe above 1mil were 'Interactive brokers' -4.6mil and 'Merrill Lynch Equities' -5.4mil
I will admit that the chart was looking quite bullish for another leg up until the 17th of January, then UBS started offloading from the 20th and that's when the SP has crashed. The only manipulation here is UBS pumping the share price to then offload to retail holders at the highs.
