Agreed, for a company with so many growth opportunities ahead of it funds are better spent pursuing these as aggressively as possible. We’re in a blackout period now, but I hope they continue to focus all resources on growth rather than worrying about what the share price is doing and using cash as a temporary bandaid. A buyback doesn’t do much except boost EPS so management can reward themselves with bigger salaries and bonuses. The fundamentals will drive the price longer term, a buyback could never create a sustained uptrend as ASIC does not permit companies to use a buyback in such a way, and imposes significant restrictions on how they can be carried out.
